  1. Ms. Sajani Parekh, MFT-IV has developed Cooling Jacket for textile workers as a part of her Research Project.

  2. Ms. Ishita and Ms. Nitika Yadav, BFT-VIII has developed an on-machine prototype for collection of broken needle.

  3. Darshita Agarwal & Vivek Vaishnavi, BFT V participated in Starthelon – IIM Ahmedabad – 2016 from 9th November to 22nd November 2016 held at IIM Ahmedabad and secured the 1st & 2nd Prize respectively.

  4. Ms. Akshita Mishra got shortlisted as one of the Top 10 finalists of She Leads by Women of Worth 2017 held on 28th February 2017 at British Embassy, Chennai.

  5. Vivek Vaishnavi participated in India Skills Competition 2016 for 'Fashion Technology' – 2016 held at NIFT Bengaluru on 26th June 2016.

  6. Darshita Agarwal participated in Design Sutra on 29th August 2016 held in Mumbai and won the Consolation Prize

  7. Six students of BFT VI attended a seminar by Shopclues founders Radhika Agarwal and Sanjay Sethi on the topic: How to Start a Startup conducted by IIM Ahmedabad.

  8. Six students of BFT VI attended BRAVADO 2017, 2nd Entrepreneurship Conclave on 8th April 2017 with the topic: Fueling Entrepreneurial Culture in Academic Institutions, held at Oakbrook Campus Ahmedabad. Shatakshi Varshney and Vishal Singh won the runners up position competition held on Business Plan.

  9. DFT students actively participated in several events like street plays, essay writing, debates, vigilance week, street plays, marathons and also played a pivotal role in organizing National Fashion Olympiad and Student Orientation activities.

  10. Gurusha Mahajan, Anjali Shhakya and Krishna Chandra of BFT IV took part in the imitative for the beautification of public toilets as a part of the Swacch Bharat drive.

  11. Students of BFT IV and VI contributed in a short film showcasing the efforts of NIFT Gandhinagar to promote Sustainability and the 3Rs- Reduce, Reuse and Recycle for the Ministry of Textiles under Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan.

  12. 11 students of BFT IV volunteered in a special drive for creating awareness regarding BHIM application launched by the Government of India under the Digital India Program on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti.

  13. Ms. Sachi Khattar, FD-VI selected in final 15 contestants for Max Design Award 2016 and Stood at top 19 for Woolmark in 2017.

  16. All MFT-II students actively participated and supported digital campaign to complete target related to promote cashless economy.

  17. Five students of MFT II volunteered in a special drive for creating awareness regarding BHIM application launched by the Government of India under the Digital India Program on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti.

  18. Mr. Tushar Rajan Sharma, FC-VIII as part of his Graduation Project designed graphics for garments under the guidance of Manish Arora which were showcased in Paris Fashion Week 2017.

  19. Mr. Vivek Vaishnavi, BFT VI was selected and attended the Model Youth Parliament - Budget Session 2017 from 24th to 26th March 2017 which was a prestigious event for potential future leaders.

  20. fashion. International collaborations allow students to experience ‘study abroad’ options through exchange program. This initiative provides an excellent opportunity to NIFT students, selected for the exchange programme, to interact with students from various geographies, encouraging them to broaden their vision and understand different cultures.

  21. Two students went for international semester exchange during July – December, 2016 at KEA, Denmark and Mod’Art International, Paris. Similarly 8 students went for international semester exchange during Jan – June -2017 to NABA, Italy; ENSAIT, France; BUNKA Fashion College, Japan. Students have also been selected for summer programmmesat Mod’Art International, Paris; ENSAIT, France; Bunka, Japan; NABA, Italy; KEA, Denmark and FIT, New York.

  22. NIFT Gandhinagar is a Co-Member of A-Leaguewhich is a forum for promoting students’ activities and interaction with prestigious member institutes such as IIM Ahmedabad, NID, IIT Gandhinagar, GNLU, NIRMA University, PDPU, CEPT, EDII, MICA, DAIICT, AIIM, SEAS-AU and IIT Vadodara.

  23. NIFT Gandhinagar has recently signed an MOU with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) that covers broad areas of collaboration including Faculty sharing (for academic and jury), Infrastructure sharing, faculty training, resource centre sharing, joint projects, joint publications etc. NIFT Gandhinagar will be shortly setting up an Incubation Centre for which EDII will provide technical assistance and guidance.

  24. NIFT Gandhinagar’s MOU with the National Institute of Design (NID) allows its students access to NID’s Library and Resource Centre as well as exchange of faculty and students across academics, special events and extra-curricular activities.

  25. NIFT Gandhinagar was given a special Memento of Appreciation for actively participating in activities coordinated by the Narcotics Control Bureau, Gujarat.
