NIFT is pleased to announce the call for research articles for the first issue of its new scholarly publication titled 'NIFT Journal of Fashion'. This annual peer reviewed open access research journal will have a definite theme of wide-ranging significance on different aspects of fashion with critical thinking on multiple perspectives of relevance to the wider academia and fashion industry.

NIFT Journal of Fashion came into existence in the midst of the COVID -19 pandemic when lockdown and social distancing havea ripple effect of disrupting society and livelihoods. The concomitant uncertainties have provoked the need for envisioning solutions using approaches sensitive to regional realities. These solutions must be underpinned by economic considerations and tempered by concerns about social benefit. Fashion is redefining its role by attempting to reverse the tag of being among the highest environmental polluters, and is repositioning itself as an industry driven by sustainable practices that balances economics, ecology and human well-being. Recognising the need for holistic approaches, fashion education is integrating multidisciplinary streams of design, technology, and management towards a versatile and adaptive model addressing present concerns and imagining viable futures.
