Two Day “Craft Bazaar’ 2022” held at the NIFT Shillong Permanent Campus at Umsawli.
 
A two-day Craft Bazaar for Empowering North East Crafts through Design Intervention was organized
by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Shillong as part of the celebration of North
East Festival and the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The event is being organised for promotion of the
Handloom and Handicraft Sector of North East India.
 
The Craft Bazaar hosted twenty-four artisans from across the North East Region, who showcased a
diverse range of handicraft and handloom products including Nagaland Jewellery, Black Pottery of
Longpi Manipur, Wood Craft, Handmade Jewellery, Embroidery & Crochet, Cane & Bamboo,
Terracotta, Handloom and Hand Printed Textiles were displayed in the Craft Bazaar.
 
As a special commemoration of the celebration of the North East Festival, a unique presentation of
the costumes of North East was made by the students and faculty of NIFT Shillong
A significant number of enthusiastic craft lovers and buyers from Shillong City and nearby areas
visited the event.
