Rajasthani Kathputli is the traditional art of string puppetry, combining hand-carved woodwork, vivid painting, and detailed textile tailoring.

The craft thrives within traditional string-puppet maker communities across Rajasthan, clusters are in Jaipur and Udaipur, where master artisans operate home-based workshops passed down through generations.

Maya Bhat crafts traditional Kathputli products including single and pair string puppets depicting kings, queens, dancers, and folk figures. Her collection also features decorative puppet wall hangings, door hanging sets, contemporary puppet keychains, mini bag charms, and customized performance-ready string puppets.

Originating centuries ago as a royal court entertainment and oral storytelling medium, Kathputli was traditionally practiced by the Bhat community to narrate historical legends, folklore, and moral tales across rural Rajasthan.
