The Alumni
He transitioned from fashion and retail (building Kazari to 42 stores across India) back to his rural roots in Bihar following the COVID-19 pandemic. He began working with rural artisan communities in 2020 (initially bamboo craft, expanding into water hyacinth, Sujani, Sikki, terracotta, and applique), empowering women and creating dignified livelihoods.

Story behind the Craft Practice
He works at the intersection of craft, design, and sustainability, transforming traditional Indian crafts and locally available natural materials (such as water hyacinth, banana fibre, bamboo, and leather fusion) into contemporary products. He focuses on a waste-to-value approach—converting invasive aquatic weeds like water hyacinth into sustainable livelihood opportunities for rural artisans.

Design Intervention
It bridges India's craft heritage with evolving global design sensibilities through artisan training, design development, prototyping, production systems, and quality standardisation. The brand develops contemporary lifestyle, home décor, and utility products (baskets, planters, mats, storage, bags, and accessories) geared for national and international markets.
