The Alumni
Saloni Chittara is a NIFT Gandhinagar alumna who graduated with a B.Des in 2021. With three years of experience in craft-based design, she founded Pichori to bring traditional Rajasthani craftsmanship into contemporary fashion. Working with 15-20 artisans, she promotes Mochi Bharat embroidery and conscious, low-waste production.

Story behind the Craft Practice
Pichori celebrates Rajasthan’s traditional crafts, including Mochi Bharat embroidery, hand embroidery, and block printing. Through family ties with the Chittara/Mochi craft community, Saloni works to preserve regional heritage and sustain generations of artisan knowledge.

Design Intervention
Pichori blends traditional crafts like Mochi Bharat embroidery, block printing, and natural dyeing with contemporary womenswear. Its slow-fashion approach combines versatile designs, small-batch production, and repurposed fabrics to reduce waste and support artisans.
