Apart from well-established and entrepreneurial fashion and fashion-related industries in and around the city, NIFT Hyderabad graduates get access and opportunities to venture into non-traditional industrieslike IT, automobiles and multimedia start-ups as well. With a city brimming with entrepreneurs, many NIFT Hyderabad students and graduates build and work with diverse professional teams to provide innovative products and services. The campus regularly calls upon industry specialists, renowned artists and designers and well established alumni to share their experiences. These interactive sessions provide aspirations and inspiration for building possible road maps for student’s careers and professional goals. Live classroom projects linked with industries give our students real-time access to working in the real world.

 

Workshop and competition by M/s Dupont:

M/s Du Pontconducted a workshop to familiarise its products and initiated a competition for the Design disciplines at NIFT Hyderabad campus. Students were to design and develop innovative productsusing their trademarked Tyvek material – a hybrid paper with water and tear resistance and high strength. The selected winners of this competition would get to produce this product with DuPont and see their product reach the market place.

Shilparamam, a village known for its traditional arts performances and craft exhibitions, approached NIFTHyderabad to design the ambience of their annual “All Indian Crafts Mela”. This project gave students a live opportunity to see their designs and displays being experienced by large and diverse groups of people.

 

On World Cancer Day, NIFT students created an art-to-wear collection to spread the message of cancer prevention. The work was displayed as a fashion show. The event was hosted by Apollo Cancer hospitals and received very high visibility in the press and media.
