NIFT Hyderabad celebrated National Handloom Day 2025 at the campus auditorium with great enthusiasm. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Dr.Malini Divakala, Director of NIFT Hyderabad, accompanied by Dr. Prithwiraj Mal, JointDirector, and Dr. K. Ram Mohan, Campus Academic Coordinator.

Special guests for the event included young professionals from traditional weaver families:

• Shri Sudheer Mantri from the Gadwal cluster
• Shri Manoj from the Narayanpet cluster
• Shri Bharath and Shri Bhaskar from the Pochampally cluster

As part of the celebration, students showcased their Craft Research Display, developed
during their ongoing semester visits to various handloom clusters.
The event saw active participation from faculty, staff, and students, coming together to
honour India’s rich handloom heritage.
