The four-year Apparel Production programme, offered by the Department of Fashion Technology, prepares graduates for the global apparel and textile industry through an integrated understanding of apparel engineering, manufacturing and business management. Spanning the apparel value chain from product engineering to supply chain management, the curriculum combines technical knowledge with emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), alongside industry-linked learning. Through specialised laboratories, experiential projects and industry engagement, students develop the technical, managerial and analytical capabilities required for careers in production, quality, merchandising, sourcing, operations and entrepreneurship.

The Department of Fashion Technology offers two Interdisciplinary Minors (IDMs)—one each for undergraduate and postgraduate students—focused on the growing role of digital technologies and data analytics in the fashion industry. These minors develop competencies in digital tools, business intelligence, fashion data analytics, and the applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) across product development, manufacturing, merchandising, retail and supply chain management. Through software-based learning, case studies and collaborative projects, students strengthen analytical thinking, digital literacy and problem-solving capabilities while exploring technology-enabled solutions for the fashion and lifestyle industry. Students enrolled in the Apparel Production programme may, in turn, pursue Interdisciplinary Minors offered by other academic departments to broaden their learning beyond their primary discipline.
General Elective (GE)

General Electives provide opportunities to explore areas of knowledge beyond the primary discipline, encouraging intellectual curiosity and interdisciplinary learning. Offered across a range of subjects, these courses broaden perspectives, strengthen critical thinking and support the development of transferable skills. By engaging with diverse academic, creative and societal contexts, students gain a well-rounded educational experience that complements their disciplinary knowledge and prepares them for the evolving demands of professional practice.
