‘Genesis’ is the Graduation Showcase of NIFT Mumbai’s Batch of 2026. The event comprises of creative exhibition, poster presentation and fashion show of the creations and research work of cohorts from six undergraduate and two post graduate streams of NIFT Mumbai. This year ‘Genesis 2026’, is being organized on 22nd May 2026 and marks the exuberance of innovation and freshness of creativity of the young minds at NIFT Mumbai campus. The event shall be graced by the Chief Guest, Smt. Vrunda Manohar Desai [I.R.S.], Textile Commissioner, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.

As part of Genesis 2026, the Fashion Design department showcases FASHIONOVA, where the students present a display and a fashion show of the creative garments they developed during their Industry sponsored Graduation Projects and Design collections.

Knitwear Design department is hosting KNITMODA, featuring a comprehensive exhibition and fashion show highlighting the intensive work of the students in diverse products across multiple apparel categories.

Textile Design Department exhibits TANTU, a display exhibition that highlights the professional and creative journeys of the students illustrating their learning outcomes, innovative products, research, and practical understanding developed during their Graduation Projects.

Accessory Design Department exhibits TAOCEAN, a milestone of the students’ journeys is a podium to exhibit to the professional world, the innovative and trendy projects undertaken and products developed by them.

The Fashion Communication department hosts COMMUNIQUE, where the students visually map their research methodologies, creative workflows, and final industry outputs in the form of professional poster presentation.

TECHNOVA, is the graduation showcase of students of Fashion Technology Department that highlights innovative, industry-focused projects developed in collaboration with leading companies in India and abroad.

The Master of Design Space Department presents its Graduation Project Showcase, D.DOTS in the form of a curated poster presentation that highlights the diversity, depth, and interdisciplinary nature of students’ work.

Department of Fashion Management Studies presents its annual academic showcase, THE BOTTOMLLINE, an industry-oriented exhibition that reflects the dynamic convergence of fashion, business, technology, and consumer experience.

In addition to the students’ showcases, NIFT Mumbai is also organizing a flagship event, a seminar titled "FUTURE OF THE INDIAN TEXTILE INDUSTRY IN THE ERA OF AI," designed to explore the profound, transformative role that Artificial Intelligence is playing across the contemporary fashion and textile ecosystem.

Genesis 2026 is a platform for professional networking, knowledge exchange, and industry-academia partnerships, while simultaneously offering graduating students an opportunity to present their boundless potential to the professional world.
