"Your droplets of blood may create an ocean of happiness." Marking the birth anniversary of Nobel laureate scientist Karl Landsteiner, faculty members, staff members, housekeeping staff along with security personnel gathered on 14th June 2022 for celebrating World blood donor day at the campus.

Aligning to the slogan for this year’s World Blood Donor Day 2022, “Donating Blood is an Act of Solidarity, Join the efforts and Save Lives,” a session on the Importance of blood donation was delivered by Dr. Nikita, Assistant Professor, FMS & SDAC, NIFT Panchkula. The components of blood, different blood groups, and the importance of blood donation were presented to the august gathering.

Prof. (Dr.) Amandeep Singh Grover, Director, NIFT Panchkula, emphasized the importance of well-being and health of self in order to help others by engaging in the noble cause of blood donation.

NIFT Panchkula proudly felicitated the heroes without capes, the regular blood donors from the campus – Ms. Monika Singh, Assistant to CAC, who read a beautiful poem on this theme and broke the myth that women cannot donate blood. Mr. Sunil Kumar Mudahi, Lab Assistant, TD, shared his experience of feeling overjoyed with the wonderful feeling after donating blood regularly over the years. Mr. Ketan Dhillon, Assistant Professor, FMS, also shared his journey of becoming a blood donor starting from his student life at NIFT Jodhpur and feeling light and delighted after donating blood towards helping in saving lives. Mr. Deep Sagar Verma also shared his real-life experience of getting help in time in return for the act of being a regular blood donor.

Also, Mr. G.S. Sandhu, Head of Security at NIFT Panchkula, along with Mr. Sher Singh, staff at NIFT Panchkula, shared their personal bitter-sweet journeys of life and the joy of being blood donors. To add to the experiences, more thoughts and real-life experience was shared by Mr. Pramod Kumar, CC-FP, and Dr. Tulika Sahu, Assistant Professor, FC also motivated the audience toward blood donation.

Mr. Deepak Rana, Joint Director, NIFT Panchkula, thanked the NIFT Panchkula faculty and staff members for an invigorating session and laid impetus on the awareness of the act of blood donation towards being a regular blood donor.
