NIFT Varanasi has emerged as a vibrant centre for fashion education and creative engagement. During 2025–26, the campus organised a range of academic, cultural, and industry-oriented events, including orientation programmes, workshops, seminars, design exhibitions, craft and handloom initiatives, industry interactions, student showcases, and participation in national NIFT activities. Students actively engaged in collaborative projects, cultural celebrations, research discussions, and skill-development programmes that fostered innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and a deeper understanding of India's rich textile and craft heritage.

The Construction of the NIFT Varanasi main campus started in January 2025 on 7.5 acres of land provided by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The campus began its journey with three (3) courses/programmes, i.e., Fashion Design, Fashion Communications and Fashion Interiors, in the UG from the temporary campus in July 2024. The campus currently has 5 classrooms, 4 fully functional labs for all departments, a resource centre, and a recreational room dedicated to indoor sports and music.

Inviting Applications for Sarthak
NIFT Varanasi Campus invites applications for Sarthak Scholarship for first-year students based on the annual income of their parents. The date for opening of the application is September 1, 2026, and the closing date is September 30, 2026. Interested students may apply through CMS by uploading all relevant documents related to Income & Asset of their family, Bank Account statements, and Income Tax Returns (ITR), etc. For any queries regarding the scholarship, students may reach out to the Campus SDAC.

Joint Director Prof. Dr. Smriti Yadav hoisted the national flag, followed by the anthem and a salute from the NIFT contingent. Her address highlighted constitutional values and citizen’s responsibilities. Energetic cultural performances showcased India's diversity, followed by a Republic Day-themed Styling Competition where students displayed creative fashion inspired by national heritage. The celebrations concluded with group photographs capturing the spirit of unity and pride.

Students, faculty members, and staff gathered together on this occasion to honour the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution and to reaffirm the spirit of national unity and integrity that binds the country together. The celebration commenced with the ceremonial hoisting of the national flag by NIFT's Joint Director, Prof. Dr. Smriti Yadav, followed by the singing of the national anthem and a dignified salute presented by the NIFT Varanasi contingent. Students and faculty stood in respectful attention as the tricolour was unfurled. In her address, the Joint Director spoke thoughtfully on the significance of the Indian Constitution, the responsibilities of citizenship, and the vital role of youth in shaping the nation's future. Following the flag hoisting, an energetic and vibrant cultural segment featured performances that beautifully celebrated India's diversity and creative spirit. The occasion also included a Republic Day-themed Styling Competition, wherein students displayed remarkable creativity and fashion sensibility, drawing inspiration from national symbols, heritage, and contemporary aesthetics.

Creative performances including Nukkad Natak, Stand-Up Comedy, and Art Parody kept the stage lively, while Face Painting and Hip-Hop Face-off boosted participation. Cultural highlights featured Theme Dance, Group Dance, and Classical Face-off, alongside musical acts like Rap Battle and performances by Team Banarasi Gayak and Malaki Band. The event culminated in a spectacular Fashion Show showcasing student designs with confidence and style. Organised entirely by NIFT Varanasi, the event reached its grand finale with the Fashion Show, where students presented their original designs with notable confidence, creativity, and style, marking a memorable conclusion to Fashion Spectrum 2026.
