Dr. Rahul Jain is an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Raipur, with expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, human gait analysis, and bipedal robotics. He holds a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, and an M.Tech from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. His academic and professional experience spans teaching, research, and academic administration.

His research interests include human activity recognition, human gait analysis, fall detection, bipedal robotics, Edge computing, AI-enabled fabric inspection, and the Internet of Healthcare Things (IoHT). His work includes deep learning-based approaches for pre- impact fall detection using wearable inertial sensors, with an emphasis on computational efficiency and real-time deployment on resource-constrained edge devices. He has published research in peer-reviewed journals and conferences, including IEEE venues, and engages in interdisciplinary research applying artificial intelligence to human-centric and industrial applications.

At NIFT, Dr. Jain teaches courses such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Statistics, Internet of Things, Operations Research, and Digital Design, and supports students through academic mentoring and project guidance. He also contributes to institutional activities involving IT infrastructure and academic coordination. His professional interests include emerging technologies, interdisciplinary education, and applications of AI in fashion and allied domains. Outside academics, he enjoys photography, exploring technology, and continuous learning.
