Gandhinagar CampusDr. Ranjeet Kumar is an Assistant Professor and Course Coordinator of the Fashion & Lifestyle Accessories Design Department at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Gandhinagar. He has more than 18 years of academic and industry experience in jewellery and lifestyle accessories design, product development, UI/UX, exhibition and retail design, craft-based innovation, and design education. He holds a PhD in the area of Artificial Intelligence in New Product Development of the Indian fine jewellery industry, along with a Master’s in Design Management and a Bachelor of Design in Accessory Design.
His research interests focus on Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, New Product Development, design education, jewellery and lifestyle accessories, craft heritage, digital experiences, UX/HCI, and AI-assisted design pedagogy. His research contributions include studies on AI-enabled NPD, jewellery design, digital consumer behaviour, AI in marketing, and emerging applications of Generative AI in design education. His scholarly work has been published in reputed peer-reviewed and indexed journals, including UGC Care-listed and internationally indexed publications, and he has ongoing research outputs in reputed Scopus/Web of Science-indexed journals.
Dr. Kumar actively mentors students, contributes to craft documentation and industry projects, and supports alumni engagement and professional networking at NIFT. He has mentored more than 100 graduation projects and contributes to academic review, curriculum development, design outreach, and industry–academia collaboration.
