Artisan Awareness Workshop 2023
Artisans’ awareness workshop conducted in the NIFT Kolkata Campuses aim to enhance the operational efficiency and competitiveness of the artisans and weavers. They interact with the NIFT faculty members & experts from various fields related to design, marketing, export, retail, e-commerce, visual merchandising, entrepreneurs and students for knowledge sharing on trends and understanding market demands. This workshop provides an opportunity to understand urban markets, upgrade knowledge and exposure to latest trends and new markets to the crafts persons. In the current semester the workshop was held from 29th to 31st March 2023 where 45 weavers and artisans from various Handloom and Handicraft clusters of West Bengal Have participated. The program was glorified with the felicitation of Padma Shri Biren Kumar Basak, Padma Shri Pritikana Goswami & Sant Kabir Awardee Shri Juotish Debnath by Shri Rajesh Kumar Jha, Director, NIFT Kolkata.
