Fashion Communication Department
B.Des in Fashion Communication is a practice-led course, a combination of diverse and creative outlook that converts concepts to exceptional outcomes. The course takes a multi-disciplinary approach to Graphic Design, Space Design, Fashion Media and Fashion Thinking and provides students with the opportunities to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the fashion, lifestyle industries, and beyond.
Throughout the four-year journey, students experienced various challenges and even failures that finally lead each one of them into a deeper understanding of their worth and the processes they could adopt to bring a positive change. They learned how to incorporate critical and reflective approaches in each of their methodologies, and each one of them developed their own language and style.
Diverse range of minds coming together to form a brilliant batch of communication designers, Like the rays of sun, which scatter and radiate in every direction, they too had different inclinations and attitudes towards various tasks, but together they were one, forming an exceptional bond that always glorified the name of FC department.

Dear Graduating Students of Fashion Communication,
The rapid moving fashion business space is throwing open a surfeit of exciting avenues in related communication design domains primarily focusing on experiential design.
The Department of Fashion Communication, popularly referred as FC facilitates a learning environment, where fashion thinking, analytical ability, and creative aptitude is nurtured in great detail through the use of appropriate language, visual thinking, moving images and digital experiences. A graduate of FC is equipped with knowledge in design applications, new technologies, theory and global business practice and how these skills are synthesized in the fashion and design industry. This makes the graduates of FC department well-rounded design professionals, who are the most sought after in the advertising & branding, film & animation, fashion & lifestyle, retail & apparel, space design, craft, user experience and IT industry.
Aligned to the vision of NIFT, the department of Fashion Communication is determined to impart creative and fashion thinking skills, inter-cultural competence, social and global awareness within its students. It is that time of the year again when another set of young design professionals are ready to step out to revitalise the journey for the novel. I extend my hearty congratulations and best wishes to all the FC graduates of 2021 to excel in their chosen domain of work.
