The Leather design department at NIFT Delhi held its first Alumni meet in NIFT Amphitheatre on 17th February 2018 from 11.30-4 pm.

This was the first time such an event was planned by this department, and there was a turnover of approx 100 alumni. The event began with an address by Prof. Dr. Sharmila J. Dua, Dean (Academics) . She shared information regarding the new curriculum restructuring happening at NIFT and asking the alumni to actively give feedback for this.

This followed by a brief address by Ms. Sarada M Muraleedharan , DG-NIFT sharing her thoughts and encouraging all to be part of the curriculum restructuring move and also actively be involved in internships, jobs and constant interaction with their institute. Then there was a welcome address by Mr E Sivasakthi, followed by Campus Coordinator Ms Neeti Banga.

The Alumni were excited to come back to their alma mater and relive their golden college days and meet their Professors! One could see them getting photographs clicked using interesting props brought by the professional photographer hired for the event. There was an arrangement of delicious variety of snacks, beverages and a buffet lunch for all alumni and faculty members present.

A live singing performance by Mr Sulabh Nagpal, with his live band, got everyone in a peppy mood and he entertained everyone for three hours, prompting all to join on the stage , dancing and celebrating the reunion.

All present were gifted a memento- 'A Customised Diary and Magnet ' designed specially for the event and once could see their smiling faces and feel their happiness to be part of this memorable day.

A Thank you note by Ms Neeti Banga, CC of Leather Design, ended the event in a positive note with hope for more interaction with Alumni in the future .
