Dr. Chet Ram Meena, Assistant Professor, Textile Design, National Institute of Fashion Technology, Jodhpur, Rajasthan has dual expertise both in Academics and Industry. He has done B.E. in “Textile Chemistry” from Manikya Lal Verma Textile and Engineering College (MLVTEC), Bhilwara, Rajasthan. Dr. Meena has completed M. Tech. degree in “Fibers and Textile Processing Technology” from the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai. He has also done a doctorate on the topic “Ecofriendly Colouration of Textiles” from ICT, Mumbai. He has approx. 15 years of experience in Textile Processing, Quality Control, Nanoparticles, Functional Dyes, Sustainable Design, Innovative Textiles, etc. In the past, he has worked as “Product Development Manager” with Colorband Dyestuffs, Mumbai and as a “Quality Control Executive” with RSWM Group, Banswara, Rajasthan.

He has published more than 75 publications related to Nanoparticles, Functional Dyes, Novel Finishes, Sustainability, Fashion and craft etc. in various reputed International and National conferences, including SCI/Scopus Indexed Journals. He has published 18 book chapters in high scholastic book publishers like Springer, CRC and Elsevier etc.

Dr. Chet Ram Meena has actively presented his research at both national and international conferences/symposiums. Notably, he presented his work in person at the Sustainable Textile Fashion Conference (STFC) in April 2025 in Manchester, United Kingdom, and at the International Congress on Sustainable Development in the Human Environment (ICSDEV) in October 2022 in Alanya, Turkey.

Dr. Meena has delivered lectures in various training & workshop programs. He has delivered lecture in a webinar on the title "Fashion's Fiber Revolution: Exploring Sustainable Innovations in Clothing Materials" organized by Lifestyle – Landmark Group. Dr. Meena delivered a session titled 'Innovative Sustainable Approaches in the Fashion Industry' during the 5-day Faculty Development Program cum Webinar on 'Functional and Sustainable Textiles: Future Trends and Innovations', held from April 7th to 11th, 2025. The event was organized by MLVTEC, Bhilwara in collaboration with RTU, Kota. Dr. Meena has been invited by the Aerial Delivery Research & Development Establishment (ADRDE), Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), Agra, to deliver an expert lecture on ‘Special Finishes for High-Performance Textiles’ during the Continuing Education Program (CEP) on ‘High-Performance Textiles for Parachutes and Inflatables’ scheduled on 11th September, 2025.

He served as the chair of the Advances in Textile, Fashion & Crafts (ATFC) conference in 2021 at NIFT Jodhpur, and co-chaired the International Conference on Sustainable Design Practices in 2023 at NIFT Kangra. He has also chaired a technical session in the International Symposium- 2024, organized by Dept of Design, IIT Roorkee and Queen’s University, Canada held on 19th-20th Oct 2024, at IIT Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India. He has moderated a technical session in the 6th International Istanbul Current Scientific Research Congress, held on February 4-5, 2025, organized by UBAK. He has been regularly invited as an external expert for Ph.D. and M.Tech. work evaluation by Rajasthan Technical University (RTU), Kota, Rajasthan. He is frequently invited to serve as an external Jury member for M. Tech and Ph.D. students viva by MLVTEC, Bhilwara and IIHT Jodhpur. He is invited also as a judge for events by the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) & Veer Mata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), Mumbai.

He has lifetime memberships of Textile Association of India (TAI), Indian Fibre Society (IFS), and National Institute of Research on Jute & Allied Fibre Technology (NIRJAFT).

He has been served as an Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Textile Association (JTA) since December 2020 to Feb 2026.
