Campus Facilities

The National Resource Centre (NRC) and Resource Centres (RCs) form an integral part of NIFT's academic ecosystem. Their collections include books, periodicals, journals, theses and dissertations, faculty publications, fashion forecasting resources, e-books, online databases, magazines, audio-visual archives, clothing collections, regional costumes, textiles and fashion accessories. These resources support teaching, learning, research and creative exploration across all academic disciplines while providing students and faculty with access to both contemporary and archival material.

Design studios provide dedicated learning environments where students develop concepts, experiment with ideas and undertake studio-based projects under faculty guidance. Designed to support collaborative learning and creative exploration, these spaces encourage discussion, experimentation and iterative design processes while enabling students to translate concepts into practical outcomes across their respective disciplines.

NIFT's specialised laboratories and workshops provide practical learning environments equipped with professional tools and equipment. Facilities include garment construction laboratories, textile testing laboratories, pattern-making and draping studios, weaving and dyeing laboratories, knitting laboratories, make-up and styling studios, photography studios, graphic design studios and other discipline-specific workspaces. These facilities allow students to gain practical experience while applying classroom learning to real-world design and technology practices.

Computer laboratories provide students with access to advanced computing facilities and industry-standard software required for contemporary design education. Equipped with high-performance workstations and specialised applications, these laboratories support digital design, visual communication, animation, 3D visualisation, pattern development, fashion technology and other discipline-specific academic requirements. The facilities enable students to build digital competencies alongside their creative and technical skills.

Sports and recreational facilities support students' physical well-being and encourage participation in a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities. Campuses provide gymnasiums and facilities for basketball, badminton, volleyball, football, cricket and table tennis, along with recreational spaces that promote an active and balanced campus life. Students also participate in inter-campus sporting events and represent their respective campuses at Converge, NIFT's annual sports and cultural meet.
