Niveathitha S serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion Design, where she specializes in fashion styling, Fashion history, costume studies, art and design aesthetics, Digital design and traditional textiles. She holds a Master's degree in Design from NIFT Mumbai and earned her Bachelor's degree in Fashion Technology under Anna University.

The three-day Orientation Programme 2026 at NIFT Chennai was organised from 29–31 July 2026 under the theme “Unscripted,” reflecting creativity, curiosity and the possibilities of a designer’s journey. The programme was designed to familiarise the incoming students with NIFT’s academic environment, institutional culture, campus facilities and support systems.

Ms. Pratheepa Raj is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Fashion Design at NIFT Chennai, with over 21 years of professional experience, including Academia and Industry and specialises in innovative patterning, Apparel design development, luxury couture and bespoke fashion, Fashion history, and Inclusive Fashion. She holds a B.Des. in Fashion Design, BBA, MBA in International Business, and is a certified Gold Master in Transformational Reconstruction (TR) Techniques.

The Handloom Carnival at NIFT Chennai was celebrated with great enthusiasm as part of National Handloom Day. Around 280 students participated in the #WearYourTribe Fashion Walk, proudly styling and showcasing handloom textiles representing diverse Indian traditions. Students explored sarees, dresses, shirts, and contemporary ensembles while celebrating the beauty of indigenous weaves.

Dr.G.Sai Sangurai , Associate Professor holding a post of Centre Coordinator, Department of Fashion Design and an additional in-charge of Girls Hostel at NIFT, Chennai. She completed her Bachelors and Masters in Textile Technology from AC Tech, Anna University, Chennai. Alos she pursued a Doctorate from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. She is associated with NIFT from the year 2025.

"Timeless Weaves of Kancheepuram" was an insightful exhibition-cum-sale featuring Master Weaver Sri. Harikrishnanganesan. The event showcased authentic Kancheepuram saree motifs, traditional yarn varieties, and natural dye samples on silk and cotton. Visitors gained hands-on technical understanding through live demonstrations of the Jacquard weaving process and the intricate Jaala technique using a mini Jacquard box.

Dr A. Sasirekha, Associate Professor, has been associated with the Department of Fashion Management Studies, NIFT, Chennai, since 2009. She has been an academician for more than 20 years. At NIFT, Chennai, she has held several additional charges at NIFT.

Dr. K. Arul is an Associate Professor in the Department of Knitwear Design and serves as the Link-Campus Academic Coordinator at NIFT, Chennai. He specializes in Fashion Illustration, Design Process, Stylized Illustration, Virtual Prototyping & Product Design and Fashion Portfolio Development. He joined NIFT in 2005 and has over 20 years of academic experience. He also served as the Centre Coordinator for the Knitwear Design Department for six years.
